Brent Coyne is a member of the Litigation and Family Law group at Pushor Mitchell.
Brent completed his undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia, obtained his Juris Doctor at Bond University on the Gold Coast in Australia and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2012.
Brent advises clients in all aspects of family law. He assists clients whose family issues may not be suitable or otherwise conducive to mediation. He is primarily geared towards resolving disputes through litigation and has successfully argued cases at all levels of court in British Columbia. However, Brent recognizes that all options ought to be available to his clients through negotiation, mediation and litigation, or a combination of these approaches when appropriate. He also has considerable commercial and civil litigation experience in a variety of matters involving breaches of contract, negligence claims, breach of fiduciary duty, claims for unpaid goods and services, shareholder disputes, as well issues involving real and stratified property.
Brent is an active member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC, the Canadian Bar Association and the Kelowna Bar Association. He is the director of governance for the Kelowna Community Music School as well as director of governance for Canada Skateboard, the national governing body for amateur skateboard athletes debuting at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Outside of the office, Brent can be found fly fishing many of the lakes and river systems in B.C, rock climbing the Skaha Bluffs or planning his next surf trip.
