People and planning are at the core of every transaction that Curtis Darmohray handles as a business, wills and estates, and real estate lawyer at Pushor Mitchell.

Whether they’re preparing for their first home and mortgage or have years of ownership under their belts, homeowners and home buyers trust Curtis to ensure that their sales, purchases and refinancings go as smoothly and cost-effectively as possible. Clients also frequently consult him about real estate agreements and options to purchase, as well as development issues related to subdivisions, easements, and covenants.

In his estate planning practice, Curtis helps ensure families are optimally prepared for old age, disability, or death through wills, representation agreements, succession plans, living wills and advance directives, and powers of attorney. After the death of a parent or other loved one, family members seek out Curtis’s experience and empathy to help them with estate administration issues such as probate and the distribution of assets.

Curtis’s business clients range from sole proprietorships to large companies with hundreds of employees, most of them based in the Okanagan Valley. They depend on his skills and timeliness to conduct incorporations and reorganizations, to draft contracts, purchase-and-sales, shareholder additions and agreements, and to handle lending and borrowing matters. Curtis was a long-time member of the CCH Corporate Law Advisory Board and edited several chapters of the British Columbia Corporations Law Guide.

Curtis earned both a commerce and an arts degree at the University of Calgary before completing his law degree at the University of Alberta in 1996 (he’s proud to be an alumnus of Kappa Sigma International and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity). He joined Pushor Mitchell in 1997 and became a partner in 2003. Curtis is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Kelowna Bar Association, and is frequently asked to share his legal expertise through speaking engagements and presentations.

Curtis devotes much of his time to community through his roles with many Kelowna organizations. He is the President of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Sales Lead Network, a past member of the German-Speaking Business Persons Club of Kelowna, and a past board member of both the Downtown Kelowna Association and the Kelowna Child Care Society. Outside the office, Curtis can be found honing his German linguistic skills (Er spricht Deutsch!), and spending time with his wife Tammy and kids Matthew, Meghann and Markus, who all enjoy skiing, quadding, boating, and hiking.
