The BGC (Boys & Girls Club) Okanagan in Kelowna was established in 1959 by a group of concerned citizens to develop a safe place for children to go after school, however what they discovered, was that the club did much more. By providing a safe place, a place of belonging and positive role models, boys and then girls were developing into responsible young men and women, thanks to their involvement at the club. The organization focusses on 4 core programming areas: physical activity, health and safety; leadership, growth and empowerment; learning and career development; and family and communities.
