Pushor Mitchell Brain Injury Conference Takes Place During Brain Injury Awareness Month
Pushor Mitchell lawyer Brent Coyne presented on the topic of Family Law at this year’s Pushor Mitchell Westcoast Brain Injury Conference on June 14, 2023, coordinated by Okanagan not for profit organization BrainTrust Canada. Brent spoke about how spousal support, child support and other family law related issues are affected for persons living with brain injury and other disabilities.

The theme of this year’s event was “A Synthesis of Systems: Working Together To Fill the Gaps“, with attendees including persons with brain injury and family members, health professionals and service providers, sponsors and others interested in this important topic. Other presentations during the day included the overdose crisis in British Columbia, identifying and filling gaps for treatment, better habits for brain health, disability justice, neurorehabilitation, organizational awareness in BC Corrections, and Kelowna’s Integrated Court.
June is brain injury awareness month, and BrainTrust Canada strives to reduce preventable brain injuries, and also to support and maximize the potential of those affected by acquired brain injury.
