Angela Price-Stephens Appointed to Board of Directors of CMHA
Angela is a committed advocate for mental health wellness and has volunteered hundred of hours in recent years to the more vulnerable in the local community. Being appointed to the Board of Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna has been a long-term goal. “It is an honour to be accepted to a most able and accomplished board who is motivated to walk the talk about such important issues.”
Angela has worked at the grass roots level, answering suicide calls on overnight shifts, accompanied sexual assault victims to the hospital, assisted mental health patients navigate the legal system and has been a volunteer for the lawyers’ assistance programs in both British Columbia and Ontario. In addition to the volunteer work Angela is a graduate student of Clinical Counselling working towards a master’s degree. The skills and techniques taught help to enrich Angela’s litigation practice and deepen empathy and connection with clients. Using this diverse experience Angela will be a valuable asset to CMHA and all those the organization seek to serve and support.
Pushor Mitchell has been a long-time supporter or CMHA and wishes Angela all the best for a productive term of office.
