James Paterson Appointed to United Way Board

Community involvement is a long standing firm tradition, members of the firm contribute through donations of time and money to a broad range of activities. The latest contribution in that regard is James Paterson joining the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan/ Similkameen. James has been very involved in the community, being Past President and Director of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, Past President and Director of the Kelowna Art Gallery, Past President and Director of the Kelowna Bar Association, Co-Chair of Kelowna/Lake Country MP Ron Cannan’s Golf Classic, Past Director of the Central Okanagan Community Futures Development Corporation, and being involved in many other boards, organizations and sports teams in the community throughout the years.

When he finds time for work he acts as counsel for over 350 Corporations and Societies and has been involved in a broad range of business law transactions including formations, mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, corporate finance transactions, franchising for both Franchisor and Franchisee, technology/licensing agreements and securities compliance. His extensive real estate practice includes clients which are developers, purchasers, vendors and investors, for the full spectrum of real estate transactions consisting primarily of commercial financing, property and development projects on freehold or leasehold land, in addition to typical leasing and residential transactions.

Away from the office, James tries to keep active with hockey, soccer and golf to balance the physical impact of the many meals that are included with his community activities. His young family, which includes his wife Gabriela and his two active growing boys, Quinn-8 and William-3, quite willingly keeps his focus on the fun in life!!
