
Geord’s practice deals with all areas of real estate law and business law, with a particular focus on real estate development. He has lengthy experience in raising private capital under exemptions within the Securities Act and Rules, and has acted for developers of projects in foreign jurisdictions marketing within British Columbia. He also has a niche practice in adoption law
The real estate side of his practice includes the acquisition, development and financing of residential and resort developments as well as commercial properties. He has represented individual, corporate and institutional clients and has extensive experience preparing disclosure documents for resort projects including land and strata subdivisions, shared interests, fractional interests and rental pool offerings.
Geord’s business law practice includes a full range of corporate services and commercial advisory services for his clients. His practice in adoption law includes preparing and guiding clients through every step of the adoption process. He has over twenty years of experience in this area.
Geord was born and raised in Kelowna, leaving to attend the University of British Columbia where he graduated with degrees in Commerce and Law. He returned to Kelowna in 1980 to practice law and joined Pushor Mitchell as a Partner in 1996.
Away from the office, Geord, Jory and their four children enjoy their hobby farm which is also home to a number of cats, dogs and horses. An avid golfer, Geord has come to the conclusion that his active family and busy law practice have something to do with the rather dramatic rise in his golf handicap.
