
Curtis practices in all areas of business law, estate planning and administration, and real estate law.
He has developed a busy business law practice that includes the incorporation of companies and societies, corporate reorganizations, the purchase and sale of businesses, negotiating and drafting of commercial leases, licensing agreements, and other business and tech-related agreements.
Other significant areas of his practice include real estate transactions, land development, and bank financing and security. In addition, he has significant experience to guide clients with their Estate Planning needs including Wills, Family Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements, Nomination of Committees and related Adult Guardianship matters.
Curtis was a long-time member of the CCH Corporate Law Advisory Board and edited several chapters of the CCH Corporations Handbook. Curtis is also a frequent presenter and seminar leader on topics relating to business law, real estate transactions, and estate planning and administration.
Curtis is also quite active in the community. He is a founding member of Kelowna's first Business Network International (BNI) Chapter, a founding member of the Okanagan Business Referral Group, and a past director of the Kelowna Childcare Society, the Kelowna Unlimited Hydroplane Association and the Downtown Kelowna Association.
Curtis completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Alberta in 1996. He joined Pushor Mitchell and was called to the Bar in 1997, and joined the partnership ranks in 2003.
Away from the office, Curtis keeps busy boating and quading with his wife and 3 kids, and occasionally finds time to hone his German linguistic skills (Er spricht Deutsch!).
