Safe Kids Week 2009:(May 25th to 31st 2009)

Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death among children in Canada. Canada is known for being a safe place to raise kids. But when it comes to home product safety we fare no better than much of the developed world. Like most countries, home product related-injuries are quite common.

In fact, over 18,000 emergency room visits are related to home product injuries. Safe Kids Canada collaborates with partners across the country to conduct research, raise awareness, educate families, and advocate for safer environments to protect children from injury. "Injuries continue to be the number one cause of death for kids. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Giving parents practical and reliable solutions to keep kids safe - that's what we do," says Pamela Fuselli, executive director, Safe Kids Canada.
