Key Steps In Responding To Privacy Breaches


B.C.’s Office of the Privacy Commissioner has developed a number of tools to assist employers with the task of responding to breaches of privacy within their organization.  The first item, entitled “Key Steps in Responding to Privacy Breaches”, provides a four step plan for dealing with breaches of privacy.

The Privacy Commissioner has also developed a template “Privacy Breach Reporting Form” as well as a “Breach Notification Assessment Tool” to assist employers with making key decisions when a privacy breach has occurred.
