Foreign Worker Pilot Project Expanded


Canada’s federal minister of Human Resources and Social Development has announced that the pilot project to accelerate the hiring of foreign workers in British Columbia and Alberta has been expanded.  The “Labour Market Opinion Pilot Project” accelerates the application process to hire foreign workers in certain occupations in those provinces.  Commenced in September, 2007, the project initially applied to twelve occupation categories. 

Twenty one new occupations have been added to the list as of January, 2008 including: civil engineers, commercial janitors and caretakers, construction labourers, delivery drivers, and many more.
