B.c. Intends To Ban Mandatory Retirement

The Premier’s Council on Aging and Seniors Issues has recommended the abolishment of the practice of so-called “mandatory retirement” in British Columbia.  If put into effect, this recommendation would see the removal of the portions of the B.C. Human Rights Code which prevent persons aged 65 or older from complaining of age discrimination.
