$511.6 Million Patent Infringement Award

Computer giant Microsoft ordered to pay $511.6 million in damages and costs to Alcatel Lucent for patent infringement on June 23.  Alcatel-Lucent had sued Microsoft for infringing two patents held by Alcatel-Lucent. This law suit is one of a series of patent infringement actions between the two parties for a variety of technologies from speech recognition to digital media encoders.  More information on this recent award is available at:
