Insurance Law

Our Insurance Law Group provides quality legal services to many private insurers in British Columbia.  We act as counsel in the defence of individuals and corporations under general liability policies, and also have extensive experience in the defence of first party claims and in the pursuit of subrogated claims.

We believe that the keys to excellence in an insurance practice are excellence in client service and an appreciation of the costs involved on a file by file basis.  We strive to provide legal services in a practical and cost efficient manner, attempting to resolve matters where necessary, but not compromising solely for the sake of expediency.  We believe it is important to take control over the litigation process, moving matters along to a conclusion when it is appropriate.  We believe the best results are achieved when new matters are reviewed thoroughly upon receipt to develop a theory of the case so that conduct of the file is focused and directed, thereby minimizing costs and maximizing results.

We are experienced in the preparation and timely delivery of concise and thoroughly researched legal opinions.  We consider ourselves not only to be our client’s counsel, but also an integral part of our client’s risk management team.

We have lawyers at all levels of experience and strive to match the appropriate lawyer to each file to ensure that the experience required and the cost associated is commensurate with the case at hand.  We are prepared to negotiate alternative billing structures, including fixed fees, hourly rates inclusive of disbursements, and lower hourly rates dependant on volume.
