Why did you become a lawyer?
I have always enjoyed business. As a lawyer I have a chance to be involved with many different business ideas and to advise businesses at all stages of growth.
What is the focus of your law practice?
I focus on Business, Real Estate and Estate Planning Law including advising and preparing commercial contracts, commercial lending and finance agreements, purchase, sale and refinancing of residential and commercial real estate and estate planning advising and preparing Wills, Representation Agreements and Trusts.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what profession would you like to attempt?
I enjoy the intricacies of business and business transactions and I would like to try investment banking.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what profession would you never do?
I enjoy an adventure and I’m certain I would find things to enjoy about any profession I became involved with.
What is the first thing you check each morning?
I check my email and castanet then head for the coffee station.
What are people most surprised to learn about you?
I was awarded a three year participation certificate for dancing in the Law Show put on by the University of Alberta. We raised in excess of $90,000.00 in my three years participating. Nobody paid to see my dance moves.
Your biggest extravagance?
I travel to somewhere hot every winter for vacation. This year I may visit Panama or Jamaica.
Your favourite food and drink?
Chili beef lettuce warps with a cold beer. It’s an easy meal to prepare and has tons of flavour.
